How Does The Rear Load Sensor Work?
Firstly, rear load sensors are a great invention which has helped save countless lives without much publicity. This unsung hero has is responsible for making sure that your safety isn't compromised. Rear load sensors are sometimes mistaken as the motion detectors which are used when reversing your car. We install this sensor for one big reason which is to make sure that our cars have a good balance of rear and front weight eventhough we are loading different weight and loads on the back of our car sometimes.
It is not surprising that you might pass by a car which is ferrying many people at the back when you travel on the road. Damaging a vehicle by overload is not right, not even when the reason is car pooling. Given the heavy circumstances, I believe that with every corner and every turn, you can hear the tyres kissing the car's chassis!
This is all wrong! Here's why:
Let's Talk About Safety: By over loading your car's rear cabin space, you will end up with a disproportioned distribution in center of gravity. The maths is straight forward as maximum two passengers can sit in front while the back is open for four. Thus you will get a double load at the back. This condition is extremely dangerous during cornering of your vehicle especially at winding roads on the hill side.
Prematurely Damaging Your Vehicle: A car usually is produced and has a designated maximum load that the manufacturer decides is safe. When you begin to put too many things or carry too many people in your rear seats, you will run the risk of over stressing your rear suspension, and it will cause rapid and additional wear and tear per mile. This is the last thing you want to see taking place and it will just cut away the resale value of your car, it will downright cost you more money to repair it. The amount of times you take your car for servicing is going to multiply that cost. This will drain away your money!
Which begs the question, How Does The Rear Load Sensor Work to stop all that? Your car's rear load sensors are fixed in within to read the weight readings that your rear suspension is holding. Then it feeds this information to the computer designated to manage the suspension system's height by raising it or lowering it in perfect harmony for safe handling on the weight. The system will give the car an ideal suspension level to enable safe driving.

An additional feature of the rear load sensors is that it manages the vehicle's braking torque to ensure the car is able to handle changes in weight on various journeys. Tentatively, you may be driving yourself sometimes, and sometimes, you might find yourself driving around with many people. Given if your suspension and brakes are fixed for one standard load, then you will notice that your car is behaving differently each time you change the amount of weight you drive.
