How can I protect my boots from the heat of my motorcycle's exhaust pipes?
I have a 1986 Harley Davidson FLST (Heritage Softail) with thunder headers. The problem is the exhaust pipes come so close to my foot that I have to rest it on the outer edge of the footboard so my boots won't get damaged. Is there something I can cover it with to protect my feet from the heat? Any other suggestions?
They sell a guard that mounts on the foot board to keep your boot away from the exhaust.I don't remember the company name offhand.I think Harley sells them in their catalog too.I have also seen them advertised in American Iron magazine.
