Should i trade my 96 Deville Concours for a 98 Mercury Mountaineer?
Both vehicle run and drive, and both need some work to be perfect. The Cadillac needs a Hub/ABS sensor for the front left wheel. And a IS (Input speed) Sensor inside the transmission. The motor has to be almost removed and the transmission partially disassembled to install the sensor into the transmission though. Also the Deville has been in a very small wreck and needs atleast a fender and a Turn Signal assy to make it acceptable. But to be perfect it would also need a hood and a bumper cover, and also a headlight. Where-as the Merc needs nothing for the transmission and just needs the Oil Pan gasket replaced on the motor. It also has a newer transfer case, but doesn't have the front differential or axels/driveshaft for the AWD system to be working. It also would need a grill for the front, and a Section of the dash (around the radio, from where it was stolen before), and some major carpet cleaning. It would also Need new shocks, and possibly an alignment as well.
sounds like your trading one bad car for another, use the money you will spend on repairs and buy one that doesn't need work.
